Special Classes

Special classes are normally used for NPCs. These classes tend to have significant restrictions and are often notable more or less powerful than equivalent player classes. It is up to the DM to determine whether a special class will be available for a PC. Care should be taken in allowing these as they may restrict adventuring and/or grant significant power.

Normally, class levels count as level-1 for CR. NPC classes have their own CR adjustment listed that applies instead of the standard.
