Belligerent Scrapper

Many people get caught up in brawls and disagreements, finding themselves throwing punches with a less-than-vague idea of why it's even happening. Belligerent scrappers are those who thrive on such chaos, seeking the thrill of knock-down drag-out combat against fellow saloon patrons.

Role: Belligerent scrappers are close-ranged combatants who need no weapons or gear, fighting readily with whatever comes to hand

Alignment: Belligerent scrappers cannot be of lawful alignment. 

HP Roll: d4+2

Requirements

To qualify to become a belligerent scrapper, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.

Skills: Acrobatics 5 ranks

Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Dodge, Great Fortitude

Special: Must have won a fight against a creature of more than half her level, using only unarmed strikes and improvised weapons, while drunk.

Class Skills

The belligerent scrapper's class skills are Acrobatics (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge [local] (Int) Perception (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis)

Skill Ranks per Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Primary Attributes: Str or Dex, Con

A true belligerent scrapper can slay with anything.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the belligerent scrapper prestige class.

Improvised Weapon Proficiency

While wearing light or no armor, no shield, and otherwise unarmed, the belligerent scrapper can attack and deal lethal damage with an improvised weapon with no penalty on the attack roll (both in melee and thrown). The belligerent scrapper's improvised weapon attacks deal an extra 1d4 damage, not multiplied on a critical hit. A belligerent scrapper can choose improvised weapons for feats that require a choice of weapon, such as Weapon Focus.

When a belligerent scrapper rolls a natural 1 on an attack roll with an improvised weapon, it breaks. A belligerent scrapper can use an improvised weapon with the Weapon Finesse feat so long as it weighs no more than 5 lb per hand it is wielded in (rather than the normal 2 lb per hand limit).

Demon Rum (Ex)

A belligerent scrapper's body handles alcohol differently from other people's. She can drink a large tankard of ale, a bottle of wine, or a corresponding amount of stronger alcohol as a move action. Every bottle or tankard of alcohol she consumes while in combat adds a stack of Demon Rum; each stack reduces her Wisdom and Intelligence by 2 points each, but increases her Strength or Constitution (character's choice) by 2 points. The belligerent scrapper can have a number of stacks up to to half her class level (minimum 1). The duration of both the penalty and the bonus is a number of rounds equal to 3+Con mod. 

Several of the belligerent scrapper's abilities consume stacks of Demon Rum; when this happens, the bonus and penalty from this ability are immediately removed based on the number of stacks consumed.

Staggering Lurch (Ex)

At 2nd level, the belligerent scrapper lurch, stumble, and stagger unpredictably, charging an opponent who doesn't even realize she's coming after them. When the belligerent scrapper charges, she need not move in a straight line, except for the last 10 feet of movement. Furthermore, she can make an Acrobatics check to evade attacks of opportunity during such a charge, even though she moves at the usual double-move speed.

Bonus Feat (Ex)

At 3rd, 6th, and 9th level, the belligerent scrapper gains a bonus feat. These may be any feats containing one of the following words in their name: feint, trip, disarm, dirty trick, bull rush. The belligerent scrapper must meet all requirements for the chosen feat as normal.

Deadened Nerves (Su)

At 3rd level, a belligerent scrapper becomes highly resistant to pain and injury. She becomes immune to pain effects. Additionally, while under the effects of Demon Rum, she gains DR X/-, where X is twice the number of drinks she is benefiting from.

Improved Improvised Weapons (Ex)

At 4th level, the belligerent scrapper becomes more adroit at using her surroundings as weapons. She can wield long improvised weapons (like ladders) as reach weapons, gains a +2 to disarm attempts with improvised weapons with many protrusions (such as chairs), and gains +2 to trip attempts with improvised weapons that could entangle or hook a foe's leg (such as a crowbar or chain). Finally, she can wield objects with a large surface area (like divans) as heavy shields.

Additionally, improvised weapons wielded by the belligerent scrapper count as magical, cold iron, and silver for the purposes of overcoming DR.

Greater Improvised Weapons (Ex)

At 5th level, the bonus damage dealt by a belligerent scrapper's improvised weapons increases to 1d8.

Corkscrew Rush (Ex)

A belligerent scrapper of 6th level or higher can perform this maneuver, leaping forward and twisting her body in midair as she attempts to head-butt an opponent. When making a charge attack she can, in addition to dealing normal damage, initiate a bull rush (without provoking an attack of opportunity). If the bull rush attempt succeeds, the opponent is staggered for 1 round unless they make a Will save (DC 10+class level+Con modifier). However, if the bull rush attempt fails, the belligerent scrapper lands prone in front of the opponent. 

Uncanny Improvised Weapons (Su)

At 7th level, the belligerent' scrapper's improvised weapon strikes count as chaotic for the purposes of overcoming DR. In addition, if the belligerent scrapper is benefiting from Demon Rum, she can expend stack as a free action to grant all of her improvised weapon attacks for the current round a bonus to damage rolls equal to half her class level. She may use this free action even if it isn't her turn.

Medicinal Purposes (Su)

At 8th level, while under the effects of Demon Rum, the belligerent scrapper can convert alcohol into a curative solution equivalent to cure moderate wounds, as though she had just consumed a potion with a caster level equal to her class level. Using this ability expends one stack. This is a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

The belligerent scrapper can use this ability a number of times per day equal to her Con mod.

Masterful Improvised Weapons (Ex)

At 9th level, the belligerent scrapper's base critical threat range with improvised weapons increases to 19-20 (stacking with Improved Critical).

Breath of Flame (Ex)

At 10th level, a belligerent scrapper can ignite the alcohol in her body, spewing it forth in a mighty torrent of flame as a swift action. The belligerent scrapper must be benefiting from Demon Rum to use this ability, and it consumes all stacks of Demon Rum. The attack covers a 20-ft cone, and deals 3d10 fire damage per stack of Demon Rum. A Reflex save (DC 20+Con mod) halves this damage.
