Firebrand

Where other gunslingers rely on precision shooting, the firebrand instead masters explosive ordnance and area saturation. Firebrands tend to be passionate, devil-may-care wanderers living each day to the fullest. 

Gunsmith

At first level, the firebrand gains a scorpion as his battered firearm.

Wild Card

A firebrand uses her Charisma instead of Wisdom to determine the number of grit points she gains at the start of each day and to determine the DCs of her gunslinger deeds. A firebrand treats direct hits with her bombs as firearm attacks for the purpose of regaining grit. This ability works in all other ways like the gunslinger’s grit class feature.


This ability alters grit.

Deeds

A firebrand swaps several deeds for new ones. The new deed descriptions include information on which deeds from the Gunslinger class feature these new deeds replace.

Wyvern Blaster (Ex) - A firebrand is a master of wyverntongue rounds. At 1st level, so long as she has one grit point, the firebrand can shoot a wyverntongue round as a standard action such that it affects a 15-foot cone, rather than a single target. All creatures in the cone suffer the firearm's damage, Reflex half (DC 10+1/2 gunslinger level+Cha mod).

The firebrand can spend 1 grit point to increase the cone to 30 feet.

This deed replaces deadeye.

Grenade Shot (Ex) - At 7th level, the firebrand can unleash a powerful burst of destruction. As a standard action, he fires a wyverntongue round in a 30-foot cone (see Wyvern Blaster above). He selects one creature in the cone to be his primary target, and makes an attack roll against that target: on a hit, it takes damage as though it suffered a direct hit from the firebrand's bomb, in addition to the Wyvern Blaster damage. All other creatures in the round suffer the Wyvern Blaster damage and the splash damage of the firebrand's bomb. Using this ability costs 2 grit points and one use of the firebrand's Bombs ability (see below).

This deed replaces dead shot.

Discovery (Ex) - At 7th, 11th, 15th, and 19th level, a firebrand learns one alchemist discovery that affects his bombs (see the bombs ability below).

This replaces startling shot, bleeding wound, menacing shot, and death's shot.

Scorched Earth (Ex)

The firebrand knows how to make wyverntongue shells perform at peak efficiency. At 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter, the damage of the first wyverntongue shell fired by the firebrand each round increases by 1d6 (to a maximum total of 5d6 at 20th level).

This ability replaces the gunslinger’s bonus feats gained at 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, and 20th levels.

Bombs (Ex)

At 5th level, the firebrand gains the bombs ability as an alchemist of her gunslinger level – 4, using her Charisma modifier in place of her Intelligence modifier to determine her number of bombs per day and the DC to avoid splash damage. The firebrand adds her Charisma modifier to her bombs’ damage and splash damage, instead of her Intelligence modifier. If she gains the Throw Anything class feature, it does not stack with the bonus damage dealt with this ability.

This ability replaces gun training.
