fluff blurb
Tonelico Prima (Command prompt EXA_PRIMA)
Tonelico Prima was the first of its kind, build eons ago by an unknown civilization, who also built the Frontier Gates. It covers the northern hemisphere of the planet Argnon, including Serenity Peaks and the Gates. Due to its age, Prima's power can occasionally fluctuate, causing spells to be randomly boosted or reduced in effect periodically. This is very infrequent, however.
Tonelico Kata (Command Prompt EXA_KATA)
Tonelico Kata was the first to be built in relatively modern times, copied from Tonelico Prima. It covers the continent of Karakka on Ikkai, the Tengu homeworld. Built almost to the exact specifications of Prima, with all-new equipment, it is by far the most reliable tower, with one exception: Marya, the Lawful Neutral Goddess was replicated first, and the technology wasn't quite right. As a result, any alignment-based spells or effects created by those who follow Marya find the alignment flipped while in this area. For example, a LN shugenja of Marya who can channel positive energy will instead channel negative energy while in this region. If they were to cast a spell with the [evil] descriptor, it would instead have the [good] descriptor.
Tonelico Metafalica (Command Prompt EXEC_with.METHOD_METAFALICA/EXA_METAFALICA.Seeit)
Metafalica was the site of the Tonelicant Embolism Event, a massive catastrophe that nearly unwound the entire dimension and led to a war between Kitsune and Humans. It covers the eastern hemisphere of Haraki, the Kitsune homeworld. Thankfully, the disaster was averted, albeit with an enormous loss of life, but the fix installed resulted in abnormally long command lines for casting spells (note the command prompt, above). As a result, all spellcasting in this area takes one step longer than usual (e.g. standard actions are extended to full actions, 10 minutes to one hour, immediate/swift actions to move actions, etc.).
Tonelico Arphagos (Command Prompt EXEC_ARPHAGOS/Seeit)
Built a few decades after the disaster at Metafalica, Arphagos was constructed with a number of additional safety measures to reduce the likelihood of future issues. Smaller than others of its kind, it covers only Bacca, the southern continent of Argnon. Its failsafes had the unintended effect of amplifying alignment based effects. Any spells cast in this region that have an alignment descriptor or any alignment-related effect have their caster level and save DC (if any) increased by one. Though it hasn't been proven, some say that the tower's variant construction is what caused an influx of aggressive, deadly creatures in the surrounding oceans.
Tonelico Pico (Command Prompt HYMME>EXA_PICO)
Pico is a bit of an oddball Ar Tonelico. Constructed on Nu Gransen, on the other side of the eighth Frontier Gate, Pico was built primarily for defensive purposes. Nu Gransen is barren and blasted, inhabited only by massive craters, radiation, and enormous insectoid creatures. When the Eighth Gate was opened, the creatures began to wander in, slaughtering all in their path. After beating back the invaders, Serenity Peaks sent through a force of engineers and Steel Troopers to erect a tower to defend the gate from the Insecta and purify the world's surface. While in the area covered by Tonelico Pico, there is a random chance that casting an Abjuration spell, supernatural ability, or spell-like ability will not consume a use of that resource (e.g. a spell slot or use per day).
Incantations
Spell incantations have the following format:
<Command Prompt>_<Socket Argument(caster class)>_"Spell Name" /#<caster name> extracting
When casting via a Goddess Engine or Tonelico Chamber, the <Command Prompt> is replaced with METHOD_<Goddess's Name>
Choir Magus Songs are initiated in a similar fashion, looking like:
<Command Prompt>_<Symphonic Override>_"Song Name"
If the choir mage uses Harmonics, >HARM.extract is appended to the Song command. The Symphonic Prompt replaces the Socket Argument and is either HYMME for initiating a Song, or FLIP for Flipsphere Purging it.
As an example of what a spell incantation would look like, here are a few:
Vaar is a shugenja ("sianmanaf" in celestial) casting cure light wounds ("titilia y.y." in celestial) in Serenity Peaks:
EXA_PRIMA_SIANMANAF_"TITILIA=Y.Y."/#Vaar extracting
Miki is a choir mage ("revatail") casting Heroism ("granme") on Haraki:
EXEC_with.METHOD_METAFALICA/EXA_METAFALICA.Seeit>REVATAIL_"GRANME"/#Miki extracting
Allison is a choir mage starting her Beautiful Melody ("uta celetil") song on Ikkai, and uses her Harmonics:
EXA_KATA_HYMME_"UTA=CELETIL">HARM.extract
Hank is a choir mage executing a Flipsphere Purge on his Litany of Daemons ("sarla denera") via a Goddess Engine containing Ankiya:
METHOD_ANKIYA_FLIP_"SARLA=DENERA"
